Pre-Idol biography
29 January 1982 – Adam Lambert was born in Indiana.
1983 - Moved to Rancho Peñasquitos, a San Diego suburb, where he grew up. He attended Deer Canyon Elementary School, Mesa Verde Middle School in Poway, and then Mount Carmel High School, where took part in theatre, choir, and the jazz band.
His parents are called Leila and Eber, and he has a younger brother, Neil.
1992 – Attended his first pop concert at age 10 - a Paula Abdul show - and shortly after, started taking voice lessons.
1992 – Began performing with the Children’s Theatre Network, now MET2. He played Linus in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and lead roles in “Big River”, “The Secret Garden” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.
2000 – Graduated from Mount Carmel High School and after a short stint at college in Orange County, decided his heart lay in entertaining.
He moved to north Hollywood, rented an apartment he described as “crappy” with “roach issues”, and spent 6 months unsuccessfully looking for work, before landing a job on a cruise ship.
2003 – Joined the European Tour of Hair.
2004 – Played Joshua opposite Val Kilmer’s Moses,in the musical “The Ten Commandments” at the Kodak Theatre, LA.
2006-2009 - Collaborated with composer/guitarist Monte Pittman (Madonna) with whom he formed an alt/pop/rock/electro band called The Citizen Vein.
In the years before his Idol stint, Adam was making regular appearances in the Zodiac Show, the Burning Man art festival and at the Upright Cabaret.
