THE HISTORY OF “THE LAMBRITS”

“The Lambrits” are a fan group of Adam Lambert based in United Kingdom but anyone of any nationality can be a Lambrit – the only prerequisite is that you love Adam! There are already honorary Lambrits from Canada & United States.

Back in January 2009, a group of like-minded people saw this dark haired, sweet individual with an amazing voice audition for American Idol singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” & follow this up with “Believe” by Cher & “(I can’t get no) Satisfaction” in the early rounds of American Idol. For the first time in many years, we were enthused by his star quality, his gorgeous smile & giggle, his talent, his charisma, his looks & especially his voice! We needed an outlet & we all congregated on the Digital Spy American Idol Adam Lambert Appreciation Thread (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums)to discuss all things Adam related. As at the date of the final, we were nearly at 10,000 posts.

The name Lambrits came into existence in early April as our numbers swelled. We have shared & supported each other through the ups & downs of Adam’s journey from the early days, the bottom two & now the finale. We have shared links of Adam’s early performances from You Tube, the media coverage of our superstar (good & bad), photos of our idol, the paranoia whether the USA will embrace someone as unique as Adam, any spoilers, videos or live streaming of the shows & our admiration of his tight trousers!

With the American Idol show coming to an end, we decided that we should set up a website so we can continue to celebrate & share news of Adam’s career, which will surely go from strength to strength.

Our next mission is to persuade Simon Cowell to bring Adam over to the United Kingdom!!!

We now know Adam will be visiting the UK in March and April 2010
